Pricing
What does a Vellero website cost?
Most builds run $4,000 to $8,000, with the range depending on page count and any custom features. The price is quoted flat at the start — not hourly — so you know the total before we begin.
Is there a payment plan?
50% to begin, 50% at launch is the standard. For larger builds, three instalments can be arranged on request.
Do you charge for revisions during the build?
No — the fixed quote includes two rounds of feedback on design and two on the built site. Additional rounds past that are billed at a flat hourly rate, disclosed up front.
Do you have a cheaper option for smaller businesses?
Not currently. Vellero builds at a mid-market price point because the engineering baseline — schema, speed, local SEO — takes the same amount of time on a small site as a big one. A proper custom build starts at $4,000.
Process + timeline
How long does a build take?
Four to six weeks, most of the time. A week for scope and design direction, three to four for the build, then polish and launch. If you need it faster, say so early — it is usually possible, but something has to give.
Do I need to provide website copy?
No. First-draft copy is written as part of the build, run through Vellero's voice profile, and sent to you for edits. You own the final wording. If you already have copy you love, we will use it.
Do I own the site when we finish?
Yes. At launch the code is yours, the domain is in your name, the Google Business Profile is under your account. No lock-in, no licence fees.
What if I want to stop the care plan later?
The care plan is month-to-month. Cancel with 30 days' notice — the site keeps working, you just take on the updates yourself or hand them to someone else.
Tech + platforms
What platform do you build on?
Next.js on Vercel. It is the fastest option for a small-business marketing site in 2026, and unlike Wix or Squarespace, your content, structure, and schema are all yours to move if you ever need to.
Can I edit the site myself?
Small text edits and image swaps are included in the care plan. For bigger changes — new pages, new sections — the care plan covers a few per month, or you can brief them in as one-off work.
What about hosting?
Vercel's free tier covers most Vellero sites. Larger-traffic sites move to Vercel Pro (~$20/mo USD), billed through your account. No markup.
Can I migrate from Wix or Squarespace?
Yes — that is one of the most common Vellero builds. The new site is rebuilt from scratch, content migrated in, redirects set up so you do not lose search rankings during the switch.
Care plans
Do I actually need a care plan?
A small-business site that is not maintained will slow down, drop in rankings, and eventually break — usually right when you need it most. The care plan keeps all of that from happening for a predictable monthly fee.
What does the care plan actually cover?
Security updates, plugin and dependency updates, uptime monitoring, monthly performance reports, quarterly schema + SEO audits, and small content changes. One flat fee, no surprise invoices.
What the care plan does not cover
New page builds, major feature additions, paid ad management, photography, copywriting beyond small edits. Those are quoted separately as one-off work.
Local + service area
Do you work with businesses outside Northern NSW?
Sometimes. Vellero is built to serve Northern Rivers NSW first — that is where the local-SEO muscle is. Remote clients further afield are taken on selectively.
Do we meet in person?
Yes — for Byron, Tweed, Ballina, Lismore, and surrounds, we can meet in person for the first call. Subsequent calls are usually video for efficiency, but in-person meetings are always available.
Do you set up Google Business Profile?
Yes. GBP setup or optimisation is included in every build. That includes service categories, attributes, photos, and an opening description written to voice.
